New Work - Leah Thiessen

Leah’s artworks tap into the emotional gravity of a place, its memory, its pulse, its rawness and power. The images are a direct emotional response to the bush, beaches and mangroves that surround her home and her paintings explore unique ways of capturing the diversity of the natural terrain. The artist states that “for me the paintings communicate a deep felt relationship with the earth, embodying a spirit of place and its atmosphere.” Leah holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts and alongside a comprehensive client base the artist has been very well exhibited nationally as well as being a finalist in many major Australian arts prizes - including the John Leslie Art Prize, Paddington Art prize and Gosford Art Prize.
